Role Overview
The Staff Product Engineer will function as a technical leader and key contributor in engineering. This individual will operate across both back-end and front-end development, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, researchers, and data analysts. The role involves mentoring engineers and working with Engineering Managers to shape team growth and technical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Influence and enhance our evolving technical architecture to sustain scaling customer demands.
- Balance agility with scalable, reliable system design, enabling continuous incremental software releases using feature flagging.
- Engage in full software development lifecycle activities from ideation through implementation with a blend of hands-on coding and leadership.
- Utilize top-tier AI-powered development tools to streamline problem-solving and productivity.
- Participate actively in recruitment, mentorship, and career progression of engineering colleagues.
- Consistently elevate standards for software quality, system performance, stability, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience creating impactful SaaS products that serve a global user base.
- Track record of delivering significant contributions affecting product and team success.
- Strong expertise in at least one high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, or Perl, with openness to quickly learn new tech stacks or contribute alternative solutions.
- Experience working with distributed systems architectures.
- Over two years serving as the lead technical authority for an engineering team.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with product and design teams to deliver customer-centric solutions and strong understanding of product strategy.
