Primary Responsibilities

Lead and manage comprehensive professional development activities for consulting staff levels ranging from Junior Fellow to Engagement Manager in Hamburg. Collaborate closely with staffing managers and coordinate people-focused initiatives within the local office and broader GE-O group. Engage with partners and global Professional Development Managers, serving as the primary contact for consultants and partners on staffing and career progression matters.

Facilitate continuous development by monitoring consultants' growth, assisting with feedback interpretation, and promoting skill advancement aligned with client needs. Build strong, trustworthy relationships with consultants and partners, understanding individual aspirations, strengths, and developmental requirements.

Coordinate consultant evaluation and feedback mechanisms alongside the Personnel team, including participation in PPC meetings and supporting upward feedback systems. Advise on suitable training in partnership with Learning teams, ensuring timely developmental support.

Manage sensitive exit processes by providing appropriate counseling and support, coordinating with career coaching and outplacement resources to ensure smooth transitions for departing consultants.

Lead various ad hoc and strategic initiatives directed by office leadership or professional development stakeholders, integrating best practices within the GE-O framework.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Deep enthusiasm for professional and people development, capable of fostering trusted professional relationships across various levels.
  • Natural aptitude for counseling, coaching, and mentoring complemented by strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High integrity, maturity, and discretion when managing confidential matters.
  • Collaborative, non-hierarchical approach with flexibility and consensus-building abilities.
  • Proactive, approachable, and positive mindset to drive initiatives.
  • Fluent in German (native level) and English.
