Software QA Analyst

Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to assess software applications ensuring compliance with business, technical, and functional expectations. This role demands strong analytical thinking, a firm grasp of QA practices, and proficiency in spotting issues, developing thorough test plans, and clearly communicating results.

Primary Responsibilities

• Interpret business requirements, user stories, and technical specs to determine testing needs.
• Create and upkeep detailed test plans, cases, scenarios, and documentation.
• Conduct manual and automated testing across different applications and platforms.
• Perform diverse testing types including functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and exploratory evaluations.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects thoroughly.
• Analyze and provide in-depth defect reports to aid efficient resolution.
• Retest corrected issues and execute regression tests to prevent new defects.
• Validate software against established business and technical criteria.
• Collaborate closely with development, product management, business analysis, and other teams during software development lifecycle.
• Conduct cross-browser, cross-platform, and device testing as necessary.
• Maintain precise records of testing outcomes, defect logs, coverage, and all QA activities.
• Monitor test progress and report quality risks, challenges, and advisories.
• Engage in activities related to release validation and deployment readiness.
• Support user acceptance testing and validation post deployment.
• Analyze repetitive defects to pinpoint improvement opportunities for product quality.
• Contribute toward enhancing QA methodologies, standards, and documentation continuously.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Thorough understanding of QA and software testing principles and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Experience developing and executing detailed test cases and scenarios.
• Strong skills in defect identification, exploration, and documentation.
• Familiarity with test and bug tracking systems like Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or equivalents.
• Proficient in diverse testing domains: functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory.
• Basic knowledge of web applications, APIs, databases, and SQL is an advantage.
• Awareness of automated testing techniques and tools is beneficial.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong accuracy standards.
• Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Capability to translate technical requirements into effective test strategies.
• Strong organizational skills with effective time management.
• Capacity to manage multiple testing tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while cooperating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Additional Requirements

• Prior experience in software QA, quality assurance, software testing, or QA analysis roles.
• Hands-on manual testing experience.
• Proven track record of requirement analysis and creating test cases and scenarios.
• Experience in defect documentation and tracking.
• Familiarity with relevant tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or similar platforms.
• Understanding of software deployment and release procedures.
• Strong digital proficiency and computer skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and detail orientation.
• Stable internet connectivity and appropriate workspace for remote engagement.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, analytical mindset, reliability, and a quality-driven approach.
