Role Overview
Join our Software Infrastructure team focusing on expanding and managing infrastructure critical to our software tools. You will build and maintain tools that support the build, test, deployment, and productization of our Machine Learning Software Stack, gaining valuable exposure to High-Performance Computing AI platforms and distributed systems.
Team Context
This role belongs to the newly formed Build Engineering team within Software Infrastructure. The focus is on building and integrating the ML Software Stack effectively. Collaborate closely with QA and development teams to ensure best build practices, reproducibility, reliability, and secure sandboxed environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and enhance internal tools for building, testing, and integrating the ML Software Stack
- Develop tools and processes to support software release workflows
- Advise developers on optimal build practices and dependency management
- Maintain ongoing communication with developers, technical leads, and architects regarding the ML Software Stack
- Work alongside QA and ML teams to address integration challenges
- Contribute improvements and fixes to the ML Software Stack codebase
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++ (or comparable programming languages)
- Strong understanding of build processes and build frameworks
- Experience working in Linux operating systems
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with remote caching and execution tools such as Bazel
- Experience using build systems like CMake
- Knowledge of testing frameworks including PyTest and GoogleTest
- Hands-on experience with integration tools such as Buildstream
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience in containerization technologies like Docker and Podman
- Awareness of software architecture design principles
