About the Role
As part of the Analytics team, you will be instrumental in all aspects of measurement, attribution, and developing an intuitive reporting interface for our digital marketing platform. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence how marketers convert metrics into actionable insights that power impactful campaigns and create tangible business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend infrastructure powering measurement, reporting, and attribution functionalities.
- Build reliable data pipelines and services that transform raw event data into meaningful insights.
- Partner closely with product stakeholders to shape a user-friendly reporting UI that enables marketers to understand and act on analytics data.
- Take full ownership of backend services including architecture design, deployment processes, and system monitoring to ensure high reliability and performance at scale.
- Promote and implement engineering best practices focusing on code quality, testing, observability, and system health monitoring.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous development.
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in software engineering.
- Proven success designing and managing large distributed systems that offer high concurrency and fault tolerance.
- Strong software engineering expertise including design principles, unit testing, version control (git), code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in modern backend languages such as Python and Elixir, with practical experience applying functional programming concepts.
- Understanding of web API design patterns like RESTful and GraphQL, and familiarity with gRPC technologies.
- Hands-on experience using cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience working with distributed and microservice architectures using technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Competency in designing schemas and optimizing queries for both OLTP and OLAP database systems.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle best practices including automated deployment and continuous integration using Docker, Kubernetes, Github Actions, and similar tools.
- Strong leadership capabilities, able to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, advocate where needed, and guide junior members to boost team productivity.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges and coach others on solution strategies.
- A growth mindset with willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, combined with dedication to ongoing personal and professional growth.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is CAD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, potentially including additional bonuses depending on the hired role. Comprehensive benefits covering medical, financial, and other aspects are provided. The exact salary offered will be aligned with the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
