Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our Mattress Assembly team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee daily operations, meet production targets, and uphold standards across safety, quality, productivity, cost control, and housekeeping. This role requires hands-on leadership, focusing on team development and continuous process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Mattress Assembly team members.
• Organize and coordinate daily production activities to align with schedules and customer demands.
• Manage workforce, resources, and production expenses within budget constraints.
• Track key performance indicators such as output, product quality, waste levels, downtime, and labor efficiency.
• Ensure all production processes comply with Sleepyhead’s quality, safety, and operational protocols.
• Identify and resolve any production disruptions or bottlenecks timely.
• Collaborate closely with Maintenance to guarantee safe and reliable equipment operation.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Maintain orderly and clean work environments emphasizing high standards of housekeeping.
• Work cooperatively with other teams including foam production, foam conversion, top-of-bed assembly, and distribution.
• Contribute to production reporting, planning activities, risk assessments, and improvement projects.
• Create a motivated, responsible, and high-performing team culture.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience supervising manufacturing, production, or assembly teams.
• Background in mattress, bedding, furniture, foam, textile manufacturing, or similar sectors is advantageous.
• Strong leadership abilities with proven skills in coaching and managing team performance.
• Familiarity with production scheduling, labor management, quality control, and KPI monitoring.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace environment.
• Practical experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks is desirable.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, energetic, and proactive leadership style.
• Educational qualifications in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or related fields are beneficial, but relevant leadership experience is highly valued.
