Role Overview

The Principal Software Engineer will oversee the technical vision and execution for major applications and systems. This role is hands-on, involving system design, coding, and driving pivotal engineering projects from concept to live deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage technical design and execution for significant products, systems, and engineering efforts.
• Create scalable and dependable architectures encompassing backend, frontend, APIs, data management, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate actively with the engineering team through coding, prototyping, reviewing code, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
• Lead architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, dependability, cost, and maintainability.
• Translate vague product requirements into well-defined technical solutions and actionable plans.
• Enhance engineering standards by improving system design, testing, security, monitoring, and development methodologies.
• Spearhead critical technical initiatives and guide engineers across various teams.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum seven years of experience in software development with a track record of delivering production systems.
• Expertise in backend, frontend, distributed computing, APIs, databases, or cloud services.
• Advanced skills in system design and architecture, especially for intricate or large-scale platforms.
• Strong programming abilities coupled with a motivation to stay hands-on.
• Proven leadership in managing major engineering projects from inception through launch.
• Ability to make informed technical decisions, influence peers, and address complex operational challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience growing engineering teams, scaling systems, or improving development practices during phases of substantial growth.
• Familiarity with managing products across multiple markets or countries.

Work Environment and Language

This is a globally distributed remote position, requiring effective collaboration across different time zones and locations. English is the primary language used for everyday communication, so strong proficiency is essential.
