Position Overview

The Inventory Controller, reporting to the Operations Manager, supports operational functions by ensuring all equipment needed for events is available, accurate, and appropriately managed. This role emphasizes maintaining equipment readiness, overseeing administrative processes related to equipment control, and facilitating smooth event operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Recognize and report equipment shortages promptly.
• Track cross-hired equipment and determine their sources.
• Monitor departmental cost limits and manage operating expenses effectively.
• Coordinate with relevant personnel regarding necessary equipment requirements.
• Suggest alternatives such as substituting equipment to optimize use and reduce transfers or cross-hires.
• Assist with the preparation and execution of equipment transfers and deliveries.
• Generate equipment transfer requests for bases and venues, verifying stock availability.
• Work with the team to resolve issues concerning late equipment arrivals.
• Follow up on equipment that is damaged or missing, liaising with the appropriate departments.
• Evaluate and provide input concerning the procurement of new equipment.
• Develop proficiency in other daily operational areas within the department.
• Source sub-rental suppliers and negotiate pricing to secure optimal value.
