About the Company and Role
OmniVAI is an AI-centric creative studio and SaaS company based in the UAE that delivers commercial projects for both regional and global brands. They also develop generative AI tools that support their creative work. The company is seeking engineers to help evolve their products from working prototypes to scalable production systems.
Key Projects
- Develop and launch a generative AI platform featuring multiple creative studios (image, video, editing, brand, UGC, music video), powered by over 150 AI models and accessible through a unified gateway, aiming for global launch in 2027.
- Work on a second, confidential product—an AI-native editing platform tailored for filmmakers. It will debut as a web application before becoming a full desktop app for Mac and Windows.
Core Mission and Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is to transform current working prototypes into stable and scalable production-ready solutions by improving or re-architecting where necessary. Initial focus will be on architecture and migration, followed by new feature development.
- Transition a React/Supabase prototype into a robust production architecture hosted on AWS, implementing proper environments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and error handling mechanisms.
- End-to-end ownership of new features, including front-end, backend services, database design, and API development.
- Manage integration of AI model APIs involving asynchronous jobs, queues, retry logic, fallback strategies, and precise cost tracking.
- Develop and deploy a desktop version of the editing platform using Electron or Tauri, handling local file operations, offline functionality, auto-updates, and code signing for both Mac and Windows.
- Build user credit and billing flows powered by Stripe, ensuring accurate usage tracking down to the cent.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building and delivering full-stack web applications.
- Expertise in React and TypeScript on the front-end, and backend development with Node.js or Python.
- Strong command of PostgreSQL; experience with Supabase features like row-level security, edge functions, and storage is highly valued.
- Proven track record in migrating prototypes to production codebases, including significant refactoring efforts rather than starting from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with third-party integrations, including APIs, webhooks, managing long-running jobs, and media processing pipelines.
- Well-versed in Git version control and capable of working independently without close supervision.
Desirable Skills
- Experience releasing desktop applications using Electron or Tauri.
- Practical knowledge of AI, large language models, or media generation APIs in a production environment.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, containerization with Docker, and CI/CD practices.
- Skills in FFmpeg, audio/video processing, or working with nonlinear editing tools.
