Role Overview
As a Front-end Engineer at Fetch, you will focus on crafting exquisite user interfaces that are visually appealing, intuitive, and performant. You'll collaborate closely with design and product teams to elevate the user experience for pet parents and veterinary professionals.
- Develop engaging UI elements using React with an emphasis on interaction design and visual refinement
- Enhance and maintain the design system including components, tokens, and accessibility standards
- Optimize the app for speed, performance, and smooth rendering
- Leverage cutting-edge AI tools daily to accelerate development without sacrificing quality
- Partner with cross-functional teams including product, design, ops, and vets to deliver impactful results
- Write clean, testable, maintainable code with thoughtful architecture and thorough reviews
What You'll Build
- Highly polished customer-facing app surfaces and internal tools like claims processing and vet communications
- A robust, scalable component library and design system
- Foundational frontend features including routing, state management, observability, and feature flags
- User experience improvements that boost clarity and trust, such as improved copy, progress, and empty states
- UI components that represent AI-driven features with transparency and structured outputs
Candidate Profile
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience building and shipping frontend products or equivalent project experience
- Solid expertise in React and TypeScript fundamentals
- Exceptional design sensibility with meticulous attention to layout, spacing, motion, and high-fidelity UI details
- Strong product mindset that prioritizes user goals over mere implementation
- Adept at collaborating with designers using Figma and providing constructive feedback
- Passion for accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility
- Focus on iterative development and refining the last 10% of polish
- Bonus experience includes design systems, mobile development, and performance optimization
