Typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime eligibility. The job location is in Calhoun, Louisiana (ZIP 71225), USA.

Role Summary and Responsibilities

As an Equipment Support II, you will be pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient branch yard. Your duties will include managing equipment flow in and out of the yard, preparing equipment for deliveries, assisting customers and drivers during loading and unloading, refueling, supporting technicians, and completing various manual tasks.

• Welcome and assist customers in the yard.
• Prepare and stage equipment for shipment.
• Oversee movement of equipment entering and leaving the yard.
• Assist in loading and unloading equipment for customers and drivers.
• Connect trailers and towables securely to customer vehicles ensuring load safety.
• Use two-way radios to coordinate with office and shop personnel.
• Educate customers on correct and safe equipment use including demonstrations.
• Verify rental contracts to ensure accurate equipment deliveries.
• Handle customer equipment pick-up and return documentation.
• Report equipment damage to Branch Manager or designated personnel.
• Keep the yard and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Refuel equipment as needed.
• Inspect and perform minor repairs on small equipment.
• Conduct frequent inventory checks of equipment and accessories.
• Assist technicians, drivers, and other branch staff with physical tasks.
• Deliver and collect branch supplies and equipment to/from job sites, including exchanges.
• Refill propane cylinders upon request.
• Adhere to all safety rules, policies, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• May work extended hours or be on-call as scheduled.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Preferred experience includes customer service in construction or related fields.
• Familiarity with construction rental equipment is advantageous.
• Strong skills in customer service and problem-solving.
• Effective communication and active listening abilities.
• Good organizational skills and time management.
• Detail-oriented with ability to accurately complete tasks.
• Openness to coaching and following directions well.
• Capable of working with moderate supervision.
• English reading, writing, and speaking skills required; bilingualism is a plus.
• A strong safety mindset and commitment to safety protocols.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn continuously.
• Team player willing to support colleagues.
• Comfortable working outside and around heavy equipment.
• Physical capability to climb into and out of large vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs normally, 50 lbs frequently, and up to 90 lbs occasionally with mechanical help.
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate company vehicles.
• Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license and a driving record meeting company standards.
• A DOT medical card may be required post-hire based on job duties.
• Consistent, predictable attendance and professional appearance required.
• Additional background checks and drug screening may be necessary for restricted job sites access.

Working Conditions

This position is physically demanding and mainly performed outdoors, with exposure to different weather conditions. Some work areas lack heating or air conditioning. Tasks require walking, standing, lifting, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, and transporting objects of varied weights and sizes.

Workers are exposed to large industrial machinery and substances such as gasoline, diesel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Personal protective gear including safety glasses, gloves, safety boots, and fall protection when necessary must be worn. Safety consciousness and an unimpaired state are essential at all times.
