Role Overview

This full-time, onsite Data Analyst role is located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The individual will be responsible for gathering, cleaning, and verifying data from multiple county departments and external sources to maintain accuracy and consistency. Key daily duties include analyzing data, producing statistical reports, and developing dashboards that aid in planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation. The analyst will identify and interpret trends and patterns, craft clear visual data representations, and communicate insights to stakeholders to facilitate informed decisions. The position requires cooperation with various teams, documenting analytical methodologies, and suggesting enhancements to data management and systems.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated strong analytical abilities with experience in interpreting complex datasets and creating actionable insights.
  • Firm grasp of statistical techniques, both descriptive and inferential, for data evaluation and reporting.
  • Skilled in data modeling for effective data organization and optimization to support reporting needs.
  • Excellent communication aptitude for conveying technical information understandably to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in data analysis software such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or business intelligence platforms like Power BI or Tableau, with strong visualization skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in related disciplines including Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science; additional certifications are favorable.
  • Capable of collaborative work within public sector settings, managing several priorities while ensuring accuracy and ethical standards.
  • Knowledge of government operations, monitoring and evaluation systems, or public sector reporting will be advantageous.
