About the Role
Marid is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to lead information security efforts in Riyadh, including oversight of security operations, risk management, and adherence to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) Cyber Security Framework. This position offers ownership of the security function and a clear trajectory to senior leadership roles as Marid grows.
About Marid
Marid is developing an AI-driven open banking credit card analysis platform tailored for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The platform enhances consumers' insight into their credit card habits, spending patterns, and overall financial well-being by leveraging open banking data and advanced analytics. Marid operates at the cutting edge of Saudi Arabia’s open banking evolution, aligning closely with SAMA's framework and the Vision 2030 financial reform initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and uphold cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards aligned with SAMA's Cyber Security Framework.
- Perform cybersecurity risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize vulnerabilities across all systems and processes.
- Oversee security operations, manage incident responses, and lead efforts in vulnerability management including remediation tracking.
- Maintain documentation necessary for compliance audits and ongoing reporting to SAMA.
- Conduct security awareness training sessions for the organization's staff.
- Review third-party and vendor security as Marid’s vendor network and cloud infrastructure expand.
- Communicate directly with company leadership regarding security status and strategic planning.
About You
The ideal candidate assumes full ownership of security results and thrives in a role accountable for translating policies into effective security practices.
Essential Qualifications
- Saudi Arabian citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Practical cybersecurity experience covering risk evaluation, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident handling.
- Knowledge of or ability to rapidly assimilate regulatory frameworks, specifically SAMA's Cyber Security Framework.
- Proficiency in technical writing for policies, procedures, and formal reports.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English languages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CISM.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated sectors.
