Role Overview
The position of Clinical Pathologist is a full-time, on-site opportunity located in Doha, Qatar. The incumbent will oversee and interpret clinical laboratory testing across varied disciplines, ensuring results are precise, timely, and have clinical relevance. This role involves close collaboration with lab personnel and healthcare providers to guide test choices and interpret outcomes. Duties include engaging in quality assurance, accreditation processes, validating and integrating new assays and technology, shaping laboratory protocols and regulatory compliance, training staff, and contributing to case reviews, interdisciplinary meetings, as well as ongoing improvement efforts to elevate diagnostic services.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Solid expertise in clinical pathology and laboratory medicine, with the ability to correlate lab data and clinical symptoms.
- Applied clinical knowledge for diagnostic decision-making and patient care consultation.
- Competence in laboratory operations including workflow management, quality control, and safety within high-volume settings.
- Medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) and completed residency/specialty training in pathology; board certification or eligibility in clinical pathology is preferred.
- Experience in accredited laboratories adhering to standards like CAP or NABL.
- Strong analytical aptitude, problem-solving prowess, meticulous documentation, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and adaptability to emerging diagnostic technologies and precision medicine.
- Fluency in English; additional regional languages are beneficial.
- Possession of a valid MOPH/QCHP license and supporting credentials is mandatory.
