Job Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Architect specializing in building projects to join our Riyadh office. This role is responsible for leading the architectural design process from initial concept through detailed development and implementation, ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations and seamless coordination among multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will guide the creation of innovative, practical, and code-compliant architectural solutions that meet client needs and local standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the architectural design phases of building projects, ensuring adherence to Saudi Building Code and local authority requirements.
- Review and approve design deliverables at concept, preliminary, detailed, and construction stages.
- Ensure all project designs comply with Saudi municipal and national regulations as well as relevant international standards.
- Coordinate cross-disciplinary activities, including structural engineering, MEP systems, fire safety, accessibility, and landscaping.
- Provide technical analysis and input on design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimations.
- Manage coordination between architectural, structural, and building system designs to resolve conflicts and clashes.
- Address and respond to municipal authority comments and ensure timely incorporation of feedback.
- Maintain direct communication with municipal authorities and stakeholders throughout design and approval stages.
- Ensure all designs uphold safety, accessibility, and sustainable design principles.
- Support preparation and review of submissions for permits and authority approvals.
- Participate in design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and value engineering to optimize project outcomes.
- Identify potential design risks and devise innovative, cost-effective, and feasible solutions.
- Provide technical assistance during tender stages, including handling queries and clarifications.
- Support construction teams by reviewing RFIs, design modifications, and technical questions during execution.
- Mentor junior architects and design professionals to ensure quality and timely deliverables.
- Maintain document control and compliance with project design management and quality assurance processes.
- Contribute to preparation of as-built drawings and project closeout documentation.
Candidate Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of architectural design and building project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia building codes, local authority protocols, and regulations.
- Proven experience delivering building projects in Riyadh or other major Saudi cities.
- Advanced proficiency with architectural design software and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
- Strong technical skills in building systems integration, structural coordination, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage stakeholders at different levels.
- Experience managing complex multidisciplinary design coordination processes.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on innovative and practical design solutions.
- Track record in managing design reviews, authority approvals, and compliance documentation.
- Leadership capabilities with experience mentoring junior staff.
- Highly organized with great attention to detail and quality assurance commitment.
- Project and time management skills to meet key milestones and schedules.
- Preferred: Experience with sustainable building design and certifications such as LEED or Estidama.
- Preferred: Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection techniques.
- Preferred: Familiarity with design risk management and value engineering practices.
