Team Overview

The Growth Team is central to Airwallex's mission, concentrating on user acquisition and expanding markets strategically. Utilizing data analytics and innovative technologies, this team enhances user experiences from first contact through onboarding by supporting scalable solutions for high volume traffic, experimentation frameworks, and integration with marketing platforms to drive sustained growth.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and maintain scalable microservices primarily using Java/Kotlin, ensuring system reliability and availability on a global scale.
• Implement best practices for inter-service communication, orchestrate workflows, and enhance fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product leaders to build data pipelines and event-driven frameworks, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for growth initiatives.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams including Frontend, Product, Design, and Marketing to translate business goals into stable backend architectures.
• Lead architecture and code reviews, contribute strategically to enhance backend quality and performance.
• Create backend features that support rapid experimentation, such as A/B testing and feature toggling, to boost user engagement and conversion rates.
• Incorporate security best practices, safeguard user data, and ensure compliance with global regulations by identifying vulnerabilities and enforcing authentication mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related engineering discipline.
• Over five years of experience in software engineering with emphasis on continuous integration and quality assurance.
• Solid foundation in computer science, object-oriented programming principles, domain-driven design, and event-driven systems.
• Expertise in building high throughput, low latency, highly available distributed systems.
• Cloud infrastructure experience, preferably Google Cloud Platform, or alternatively AWS, alongside containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in JVM languages (Java or Kotlin) and frameworks like Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience managing end-to-end go-to-market operational systems.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, customer segmentation, and analytics platforms.
• Exposure to internal or customer-facing AI and large language model (LLM) based products.

Compensation

Salary range for this role is SGD 150,000 to SGD 250,000 annually.
