About JetBrains and the Role

AI now acts as an active collaborator throughout planning, building, reviewing, and operating software across teams, presenting challenges that encompass governance, security, cost management, and coordination among humans and autonomous agents.
The JetBrains Platform team (JCP) is constructing a foundational system that integrates developer workflows, team collaboration, and organizational oversight into a cohesive platform. This platform is deeply integrated with JetBrains products and designed to operate across various teams, products, and environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage the entire software development lifecycle including the codebase, architecture, and operational aspects of services.
- Maintain and enhance services primarily developed in Kotlin, with some Go code, ensuring they remain reliable and performant as the platform expands.
- Design and add new functionalities related to identity, organizations, memberships, groups, and workspaces.
- Review and merge pull requests from other platform teams.
- Handle integrations between JCP platform components and connected applications.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years experience in JVM development, preferably with Kotlin.
- Proficient in diagnosing and improving performance issues in JVM and Postgres environments.
- Experienced in developing and operating SaaS production services within distributed, multi-tenant infrastructures.
- Comfortable working with modern DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.
- Demonstrated history of taking ownership and improving existing production services.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with identity management protocols like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML 2.0, or SCIM 2.0.
- Experience designing and evolving domain models for organizational and identity systems.
- Cybersecurity knowledge including risk assessment, identifying common vulnerability patterns, and promoting secure software development lifecycle practices.
- Hands-on experience writing code in Go.
