Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing team, focused on developing cloud-enabled web applications and services within AWS and Microsoft Azure environments. The role involves leveraging AI, machine learning, and automation to advance client-facing offerings on our Intelligent Voice Network and support customer experience technology clients to streamline and enhance workplace and customer engagement experiences.

This is a hybrid position that requires at least two days per week onsite presence at our Limerick office.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and enhance integrations between internal systems and external third-party platforms.
• Develop and sustain full-stack applications using React.js/Next.js on the frontend and .NET Core on the backend.
• Engineer event-driven, serverless architectures utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and others.
• Provide ongoing support and improvement of applications accessible to customers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams, support units, and clients to capture requirements and deliver integration solutions.
• Manage deployment pipelines via CI/CD methodologies to secure dependable and repeatable release cycles.
• Diagnose and resolve issues affecting live production environments.
• Engage in code reviews, participate in system architecture discussions, and produce comprehensive technical documentation.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years experience in professional software engineering roles.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Preferred certifications or candidacy towards AWS credentials including Cloud Practitioner, AI Practitioner, Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate, or Machine Learning Specialty.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in full-stack development with React.js/Next.js for frontend and .NET Core/C# for backend programming.
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud architectures on AWS using Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS, SQS, and EventBridge.
• Expertise in designing event-driven, serverless solutions that ensure scalability and resilience with loose coupling.
• Competence in systems integration including API design and third-party data exchange.
• Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services such as SageMaker, Comprehend, Transcribe, Textract, Bedrock, Personalize, and Pinpoint to solve business challenges involving document processing, personalisation, and targeted messaging.
• Strong relational database skills, particularly with PostgreSQL focusing on data integrity and query optimization.
• Experience in DevOps practices including creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for low-risk deployment.
• Ability to provide production support and problem resolution under pressure.
• Collaboration skills for working effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
• Communication skills to contribute to code review processes, architecture discourse, and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Adaptability and eagerness to quickly learn adjacent technologies such as Genesys Cloud and emerging cloud and AI advancements.
