Software Engineer III - OpenXR Developer

Role Overview

We seek a Software Engineer III specializing in OpenXR to develop cross-platform extended reality (XR) applications. This position emphasizes deep graphics and runtime engineering expertise, enabling creation of experiences compatible with multiple XR headsets and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain XR software leveraging OpenXR and related SDKs.
• Implement rendering pipelines, input management, and runtime integration for various XR headsets.
• Optimize application performance focusing on frame timing and latency specific to XR workloads.
• Create cross-platform abstractions targeting devices such as Quest, Vision, and SteamVR.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to architectural design decisions.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to establish XR interaction models.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of four years' experience in building production-grade software, including XR or graphics programming.
• Strong command of C++ and proficiency with modern graphics APIs like Vulkan, DirectX, or OpenGL.
• Practical experience working with OpenXR or similar XR runtime environments.
• Knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine considered advantageous.
• Expertise with shader development, rendering workflows, and performance tuning.
• Strong foundations in software engineering principles.
