Role Overview
This position involves development and maintenance of the Austraclear software within the S&P Tech Engineering team. It falls under the Technology job family in the Engineering capability stream. Responsibilities span the entire software lifecycle including design, coding, delivery, and Level 3 application support of Austraclear, a systemically important financial market infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions derived from business needs and technical specifications, including detailed analysis, technical design, complex coding, unit testing, and creation of release artifacts.
- Implement enhancements and repairs for Austraclear applications and improve functionality flagged by security assessments to meet enterprise standards.
- Maintain codebase health through thorough code and process reviews and keep technical documentation up-to-date.
- Drive continuous modernization efforts by incrementally improving the software.
- Create operational and system support tools along with documentation to support effective application maintenance.
- Provide third-line support including complex incident investigation and root cause analysis during and after hours.
- Collaborate closely with first and second line support teams and vendors to resolve production issues and minimize incidents.
- Deliver software analyses to inform business decisions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a full stack .Net software/application engineer in an enterprise environment.
- At least 4 years writing SQL queries and PL/SQL stored procedures on Oracle or 5+ years with equivalent RDBMS.
- Demonstrated experience integrating .Net systems with ForgeRock IAM and Apache Kafka.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in software contexts.
- Experience with Syncfusion or similar third-party .Net user controls and Active Reports.
- Working knowledge of SWIFT messaging protocols, specifically ISO15022 and ISO20022.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple teams to achieve objectives.
- Experience providing advanced Level 3 software support within broader incident management teams.
- Flexible to changing priorities and able to switch tasks across concurrent workloads.
- Proficient with Git and GitLab source control systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems in relation to cybersecurity, group policies, elevated privileges, and use of M365 tools.
- Understanding and experience working with V-model or hybrid agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge in using Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Stash.
- Experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration tools including GitLab, Nexus, and SonarQube.
- Experience deploying applications with Wix and developing .Net applications hosted on AWS.
- Background in financial industry domains such as Clearing House, Stock Exchange, or Investment Banking.
- Familiarity with Microsoft C++ programming.
- Good understanding of cloud technologies including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent technical qualification (BSc or MSc).
