Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with over five years of robust, hands-on experience to become a vital member of our team in Dubai. This position demands more than familiarity with frameworks; it requires a profound understanding of software engineering principles, critical thinking, adept problem-solving, along with a strong sense of ownership to develop dependable and maintainable software systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least five years of substantial software engineering experience.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent foundation in software engineering concepts.
- Proactive and energetic approach to identify and resolve issues thoroughly.
- Comprehensive knowledge in system design, architecture, APIs, performance optimization, scalability, testing, debugging, security, and clean coding practices.
- Ability to independently make informed technical choices while maintaining a positive work attitude.
- Experience collaborating closely with business stakeholders to comprehend and implement real-world requirements.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and backend frameworks such as Node.js, Next.js, and NestJS.
- Strong skills in Python programming.
- Experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL, with a solid understanding of database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and modern backend architecture.
- Familiarity with version control using Git and professional software development workflows.
- Competency in automated testing and production-level debugging.
- Up-to-date with contemporary software development methodologies.
Additional Skills
While primarily a software engineering role, some knowledge of DevOps is advantageous, including Docker, continuous integration/deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure, Linux environments, and monitoring of production systems.
Philosophy Towards Technology
The ideal candidate understands AI as an enhancement tool rather than a substitute for core engineering skills. You should be capable of coding, debugging, architecting systems, and problem-solving independently of AI assistance. Our expectation is that you will critique AI-generated outputs, detect flawed architectural solutions, identify and fix bugs, and refine generated code intelligently.
