Job description
Overview
B&Q Newport is seeking a Shift Lead for a permanent position, offering full-time, part-time, or job share options with a weekly commitment of 36.75 hours. The role is keyholder-based with shifts starting as early as 6am and finishing as late as 10pm. The full-time equivalent salary is £27,709.50 per annum, including pension contributions and 6.6 weeks of holiday.
Role Summary
As a Shift Lead, you will play a vital part in ensuring a safe and smooth working and shopping environment. You will oversee daily store operations, motivate and appropriately deploy colleagues to deliver outstanding customer service, and serve as the key point of contact for both customers and team members. Maintaining store safety is a critical responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day store operations ensuring smooth functioning.
- Effectively assign and manage colleague deployment to maximize customer engagement.
- Act as the initial contact for customers and colleagues during your shift.
- Maintain high standards of safety throughout the store at all times.
