Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will enhance the broader engineering efforts by developing and refining infrastructure, deployment mechanisms, and tooling critical to everyday operations. You'll shape standardized infrastructure and "paved paths" to simplify service provisioning, deployment, and scalable operations. Working closely with application engineers, you will ensure container-based infrastructure is robust, scalable, and cost-efficient for diverse workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to design and enhance infrastructure standards, deployment flows, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Operate, maintain, and continuously improve containerized systems emphasizing reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Leverage strong Kubernetes expertise to define best practices and guide engineering adoption.
• Manage and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure components including compute, networking, and storage services.
• Enhance system observability, monitoring, and readiness for incident response in production environments.
• Share on-call duties approximately once every five weeks to handle production incidents.
• Mentor peers and promote knowledge sharing to elevate engineering practices and operational maturity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles.
• Proven hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes in production.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong skills in AWS services including EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, VPC, and Route53.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, or Argo CD.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and containerd.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and modern infrastructure-securement patterns including shift-left approaches.
• Experience managing and scaling high-traffic production systems and extensive data platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and systematic debugging and system design.
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in distributed teams.

Preferred Skills

• Improving developer experience regarding workflows and infrastructure deployment ease.
• Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Helm, Argo CD, and Karpenter.
• Expertise in observability tooling: monitoring, alerts, and logging.
• Contributions to infrastructure documentation and team enablement.
• Keen interest in evaluating and adopting new technologies for clear benefits.

• Salary range in Ireland: 95000 to 110000 EUR annually; in Bulgaria: 6000+ EUR gross monthly, based on experience.
