Kantoko is transforming ADHD care by providing accessible, high-quality support from diagnosis through ongoing treatment. We are a dynamic startup led by an experienced founder previously acquired by American Express. Joining us as a Senior Mobile Engineer means playing a key role in shaping our product, engineering approaches, and the culture while directly impacting patients' lives.

Our existing live patient mobile app is a crucial tool for patient engagement in their care journey. As the Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll take full responsibility for its development, enhancement, and technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume ownership of the patient mobile app, overseeing its architecture, feature development, and ongoing improvements.
• Deliver new patient-centered features end-to-end by collaborating closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and operations teams.
• Transform conceptual patient needs and raw ideas into fully developed, clear, and maintainable features and code.
• Refine and evolve mobile app architecture, testing procedures, and deployment pipeline to support growth.
• Ensure high quality and reliability in the app experience, focusing on performance, crash analytics, monitoring, and error management.
• Manage a steady release schedule for App Store and Play Store updates using Expo EAS, continuous integration/delivery, and over-the-air update methods.
• Implement and improve foundational mobile functions including push notifications, deep linking, secure authentication workflows, user permissions, and accessibility features.
• Continuously enhance areas of the app needing better usability, faster performance, or reduced technical debt.
• Engage as a proactive problem solver in product development strategy, influencing the what, when, and how beyond just coding assignments.

Qualifications and Experience

• A strong interest in working within an early-stage startup environment and taking complete ownership of the mobile application.
• A delivery-focused mindset with the ability to rapidly launch and iteratively improve features.
• Deep expertise in React Native and Expo, with proficient skills in TypeScript.
• Experience having contributed as a primary developer to at least one significant mobile app launched on App Store or Play Store, including maintenance post-launch.
• Sound architectural understanding of mobile development concepts such as navigation, state management, and error handling.
• A commitment to optimizing app performance and delivering seamless user experiences.
• Strong prioritization skills and practical problem-solving ability.
• Collaborative and communicative approach, working effectively alongside design and engineering peers.

Technical Stack

• Mobile development based on React Native with Expo.
• Backend services developed with Python and Django supporting the web platform.
