Senior DevOps - Cloud Engineer

Overview

Deutsche Börse Group seeks an experienced and proactive Senior DevOps - Cloud Engineer based in Cork, Ireland. This role focuses on leading and supporting comprehensive DevOps operations across the platform, leveraging cloud-native technologies such as OpenShift, Argo CD, and Kubernetes. The position demands expertise in containerization, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure security to ensure reliable software delivery and system stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage end-to-end continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins and Argo CD.
• Automate building, testing, and application deployment processes to enhance efficiency.
• Maintain stable and seamless production releases across various environments.
• Deploy and administer containerized applications utilizing Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes platforms.
• Create and maintain Helm charts to facilitate smooth application deployments.
• Continuously monitor system health, performance, and uptime across multiple environments.
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to support operational excellence.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, conducting root cause analysis for problem resolution.
• Lead DevOps practices including build automation, deployment strategies, and environment setup.
• Collaborate effectively with development, QA, infrastructure teams, and business units to ensure alignment.
• Deepen understanding of the business domain to tailor technical solutions accordingly.
• Participate actively in solution design, technical evaluations, and architectural discussions.
• Assist in requirement gathering and translating business needs into technical deliverables.
• Champion continuous improvement and best DevOps methodologies within the team.
• Apply industry-standard security practices across CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure layered environments.
• Maintain secure system configurations and enforce strict access control.
• Support DevSecOps initiatives to meet compliance and security regulations.

Candidate Profile

• Proven expertise with CI/CD tooling, primarily Jenkins and Argo CD.
• Hands-on experience administering Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
• Strong practical knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker.
• Competence in creating and managing Helm charts for deployment management.
• Proficient scripting abilities in languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell for automation and debugging.
• Experience in managing live production environments and deployments.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks.
• Solid understanding of security principles with experience in DevSecOps implementations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate effectively across diverse environments and complex systems.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
• A proactive approach with a high level of ownership and accountability.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform or Ansible.

Additional Skills (Desirable)

• Familiarity with the Go (Golang) programming language.
• Experience with other programming languages like Java or JavaScript.
