Overview
PGIM Ireland is seeking a Senior Actuarial Associate for their Pricing & Product Development team located in Letterkenny, County Donegal. This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring onsite presence two days per week. The team supports Prudential Financial’s Longevity Reinsurance business across multiple markets including the UK and Netherlands, focusing on mortality and demographic risk reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pricing for both mid-market (£300M+) and jumbo (£1Bn+) pension risk transfer (PRT) deals.
- Collaborate closely with international actuarial colleagues, business partners, and external clients in a dynamic, deal-driven environment.
- Analyze experience data from pension plans to determine mortality and marital assumptions.
- Produce assumptions and financial projections related to pension liabilities and calculate reinsurance fees for longevity risk.
- Assist with Longevity Reinsurance ‘flow’ transactions under GBP300M by evaluating pension plan benefit designs and data.
- Cleanse and integrate pensioner data for modeling purposes.
- Develop and refine simplification and transaction models to generate reinsurance cashflows and fees.
- Reconcile model findings with frontline insurers and update pricing/underwriting parameters biannually.
- Participate in maintaining and improving actuarial models.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline.
- Progressing towards Associate of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries designation, with approximately two years of relevant actuarial experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; exposure to or eagerness to learn SQL and Python programming.
- Strong analytical ability to comprehend complex quantitative models and concepts.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with US and Irish colleagues and international clients.
- Self-driven, innovative problem solver comfortable in a diverse, multi-national team environment.
