About the Role
Heritage Lifecare is offering a permanent full-time position as a Gardener at their Harewood Road facility in Papanui, Christchurch. Located in a scenic area known as the Garden City, Christchurch combines heritage charm with natural beauty including beaches, mountains, and walkways, providing a wonderful work-life balance with affordable housing and vibrant community amenities.
Role Responsibilities
The gardener will be tasked with maintaining lawns, gardens, and outdoor spaces to a high standard. Duties include mowing, edging, weed control, and general upkeep of gardens, ensuring all areas present well with attention to detail and professionalism. Candidates will need to deliver these services with reliability, a positive attitude, and teamwork in mind.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or lawn mowing is preferred.
- Knowledge of lawn care practices, weed management, pruning, and general garden maintenance.
- Horticultural certification or related experience is advantageous.
- Capability to work independently and effectively manage daily tasks.
- Physically fit for manual outdoor work.
- Strong focus on detail and pride in upholding high standards of garden presentation.
- Dependability, professionalism, and punctuality.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
- Initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Safe operation of gardening tools and equipment.
- A full, clean driver's license is mandatory.
