Financial Controller

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive Financial Controller to fully manage daily financial operations, cash flow oversight, management reporting, financial controls, and compliance coordination. This position involves hands-on engagement with financial data, ensuring accuracy in accounting entries, sustaining cash forecasts, performing reconciliations, and preparing clear management reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily monitoring of all bank and cash balances.
• Develop and update a continuous 13-week cash flow forecast and extend monthly projections throughout the fiscal year.
• Track actual, anticipated, and committed receipts and payments, ensuring cash flow reports reconcile with bank statements and the general ledger.
• Promptly identify liquidity risks and substantial forecast deviations, escalating when necessary.
• Manage payment runs while enforcing approval protocols.
• Lead monthly and annual financial closing processes, reviewing ledger entries, and ensuring timely reconciliations across bank, supplier, customer, and balance-sheet accounts.
• Validate accounting accuracy and completeness, maintaining records primarily in Odoo ERP.
• Ensure appropriate recording of revenue, deferred income, project expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Generate monthly profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements as well as weekly financial dashboards on liquidity and risk areas.
• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and conduct scenario analyses, highlighting deviations and suggesting corrective measures.
• Collaborate with commercial, supply chain, operations, and HR teams to gather reliable forecasts and analyze financial impacts of contracts, purchase orders, and advance payments.
• Support project and product cost analysis when needed.
• Coordinate VAT and corporate tax obligations with external consultants, ensuring robust compliance records and audit readiness.
• Adhere to IFRS, company policies, and UAE regulations, maintaining strong internal controls and audit trails.
• Enhance Odoo system usage, streamline reporting processes, reduce manual tasks via automation, and keep finance procedures and approval workflows well documented.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or CA is strongly preferred.
• 6 to 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a Financial Controller.
• Practical expertise in UAE VAT, corporate tax compliance, and statutory audit coordination.
• Strong skills in monthly closing, cash flow forecasting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and familiarity with Odoo ERP or comparable systems, preferably direct Odoo experience.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, technology, project-driven, or trading sectors is advantageous.
