Fabrication Engineer

Qualification and Background

Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Fabrication Technology or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience and Skills

• Prior experience working in sheet metal and stainless steel fabrication sectors is essential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fabrication procedures for tanks, vessels, and processing equipment.
• Expertise in supervising fabrication stages from initial material prep through to final assembly and dispatch.
• Familiarity with stainless steel welding techniques, welding standards, and stringent quality expectations.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication and general arrangement (GA) drawings alongside manufacturing specifications.
• Competence in generating daily production and progress reports along with quality control documentation.
• Mandatory experience with ERP systems to facilitate production planning, material tracking, and reporting tasks.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality assurance protocols.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with production, quality control, inventory, and project management teams to meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership capabilities coupled with effective workforce management skills.
• Awareness and implementation of workplace safety standards within a fabrication workshop environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Oversee fabrication processes for stainless steel tanks, vessels, and associated equipment.
• Supervise welding, fabrication, assembly, and finishing operations ensuring adherence to quality benchmarks.
• Guarantee all fabrication activities comply with approved blueprints and uphold quality standards.
• Handle production scheduling to achieve project completion within set timelines.
• Compile and present daily progress and production documentation.
• Coordinate inspections and quality control checks throughout the manufacturing phases.
• Ensure strict adherence to GMP, safety policies, and organizational procedures.
• Monitor raw material usage to reduce waste generation effectively.
• Contribute to continuous improvement programs aimed at optimizing fabrication and production workflows.
