Role Overview

We are hiring a DP Mathematics Teacher specializing in Applications and Interpretation to teach SL and/or HL IB Mathematics. The successful candidate will foster students' mathematical understanding as a tool to solve real-life problems, delivering lessons aligned with IB curriculum and exam standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach exceptional DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation courses at SL and/or HL levels consistent with IB framework and assessments.
• Enhance students' mathematical reasoning, modelling capabilities, statistical literacy, and integrate effective technology including graphical display calculators (GDC) and math software.
• Oversee the Internal Assessment process involving Mathematical Explorations, giving organized support, guidance, and assessments.
• Prepare students thoroughly for IB external examinations utilizing data-driven instructional methods.
• Effectively differentiate instruction to accommodate all learners, including those with additional needs and English as an additional language (EAL) students.
• Teach MYP Mathematics when scheduled, employing inquiry-based pedagogy and upholding high standards.
• Participate actively in the Mathematics department and contribute to the broader school community at EGA.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a recognized teaching certification and an academic degree in Mathematics or closely related field.
• Demonstrate experience teaching IB DP Mathematics, preferably the Applications and Interpretation course.
• Understanding of IB DP assessment methods, internal assessment procedures, and exam preparation strategies.
• Proficiency in utilizing GDCs, mathematical software, and other educational technology tools to enhance learning.
• Strong classroom management, communication abilities, and skills in tailoring instruction to diverse student needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students.
• IB DP Mathematics workshop training and prior international school experience are advantageous.
• Eligibility to obtain a work visa for Qatar.
