Role Overview

Our Canberra team is seeking an experienced Construction Planning and Programming Manager to support a significant long-term project. This role involves working directly with the Construction Director and Construction Managers to lead planning efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, reports, charts, and databases to deliver timely and accurate information for project decisions.
- Conduct various analyses, including risk assessment, resource evaluation, and progress tracking using histograms and other tools.
- Maintain and update the Master Schedule along with other site-specific timelines, identifying potential improvements across all levels.
- Provide regular program status reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform planning activities such as research and documentation to aid project management within defined planning protocols.
- Integrate multiple scheduling programs from various teams to ensure cohesive tracking and develop mitigation strategies for decision-making.
- Present program updates to the project leadership and the broader company during reporting cycles.
- Evaluate time impacts both downstream and upstream, assess associated risks, and propose mitigation options for leadership consideration.
Candidate Requirements
- More than 15 years’ experience in the construction sector, particularly in commercial, residential, healthcare, or government building projects.
- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, program controls, and benchmarking techniques.
- Advanced skills in Primavera P6 for project scheduling.
- Capability to visually represent program methodologies and clearly communicate plans to stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration abilities.
- Keen attention to detail combined with excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies, able to work effectively under the leadership’s guidance.
