About the Role

Speedy Hire, the UK’s leading provider of tools, specialist equipment, plant and support services, is seeking a 3.5 ton delivery driver based in St Albans. This role involves operating a 3.5 ton flatbed van to transport hire equipment around the local area, playing a crucial part in our daily operations and acting as an ambassador for our company values.

Working Hours and Location

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with working hours from 07:30 to 17:00 totaling 42 hours per week. Flexible working hours, job shares, and amended schedules are considered to promote work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5 ton flatbed van delivering equipment to customers within the local area
• Represent Speedy Hire professionally to ensure strong customer relations
• Support the business unit’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives aligned with the 'Decade to Deliver' strategy

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a valid full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Extensive experience driving within the UK and good knowledge of the local geography
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact positively
• Physical fitness for extended periods of walking and working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Self-motivated, upbeat, and able to work independently
• A strong sense of pride in contributing to the community and company
