About the Internship

This internship offers hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI applications focused on healthcare. Interns will engage with open-source medical LLMs, exploring fine-tuning and training techniques including LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT, and SFT. Key responsibilities include dataset preparation, experimentation with various models and training approaches, improving model performance for medical use cases, and integrating AI solutions into healthcare products. The role also involves working with technologies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, and vector databases as necessary, along with optimizing inference and deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in developing and refining Large Language Models and Generative AI technology.
• Utilize open-source healthcare-specific LLMs for experimentation and enhancement.
• Implement fine-tuning and training of models using advanced techniques like LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT, and SFT.
• Prepare, clean, and preprocess datasets to facilitate effective model training.
• Conduct experiments with diverse models, datasets, prompts, and training methodologies.
• Assess and optimize LLM performance tailored towards medical applications.
• Apply advanced methods including RAG, embeddings, and vector database utilization where relevant.
• Work closely with product development teams to integrate AI models into practical healthcare products.
• Optimize model inference and oversee deployment processes.

Candidate Requirements and Preferences

• Strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning concepts.
• Proficiency with Large Language Models and Transformer-based architectures.
• Experience programming in Python and working with PyTorch.
• Familiarity with the Hugging Face ecosystem for model development.
• Knowledge of LLM fine-tuning methods and tools such as LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and embedding techniques.
• Ability to conduct experimental research and work with open-source AI frameworks.
• Advantageous to have prior exposure to medical LLMs such as MedGemma and domain-specific AI models.
• Experience in preparing healthcare datasets, and knowledge of Indian languages or medical terminology is a plus.
• Hands-on experience deploying or running LLMs locally is beneficial.

Internship Details and Additional Information

• Duration: 1 month, starting immediately with a flexible start between August 26, 2026, and September 30, 2026.
• Location: Fully remote work from home arrangement.
• Weekly stipend ranging from ₹1,001 to ₹1,502, composed of a fixed pay of ₹1,000-₹1,500 plus incentive pay from ₹1 to ₹2 per week.
• Standard workweek of 5 days.
