Utility / Dishwasher Worker

About the Role

Join SSP Group plc at Dulles Town Center as a Utility/Dishwasher Worker, where you will play a crucial part in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in restaurant environments. SSP is dedicated to creating engaging and authentic dining experiences at airports, and your role helps support this mission by ensuring sanitized and orderly areas for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive guest experience by keeping all work areas clean and sanitary.
• Maintain cleanliness of surfaces and equipment, including floors, ceilings, walls, windows, food preparation tables, kitchen hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, and storage areas.
• Dispose of waste properly by moving refuse to designated locations.
• Clear and reset dining tables between customers, and transport dishes to the kitchen for washing.
• Scrape and wash food residues from dishes, pots, and pans, either by hand or using dishwashers, then return items to their proper places.
• Utilize specific cleaning chemicals on equipment to meet hygiene standards, including operation of heavy cleaning equipment if required.
• Respond to guest requests and relay special requirements to servers or supervisors.
• Handle loading and unloading of supply trucks, moving goods between storage and work areas.
• Stock food items, monitoring dates, rotating stock, and checking temperatures.
• Perform other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a minimum of six months of experience in retail or food service environments.
• High school diploma is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be proficient in English to interact with guests and comprehend instructions.
• Experienced in guest service problem-solving.
• Food handler's permit as mandated by law.
• Brand certification if applicable.
• Capability to stand for long periods and work in confined spaces.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay of $20.00.
