Role Overview
This full-time on-site position, based in Perth, WA, requires managing the safe movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and machinery around work zones. Responsibilities include setting up, monitoring, and removing traffic control devices such as signs, barriers, and cones, as well as directing traffic using stop/slow bats and other tools. The role also involves performing safety checks, liaising with site supervisors, crew members, and road users, and adapting quickly to changing conditions to maintain a safe environment. Accurate completion of documentation and strict compliance with company and regulatory safety guidelines are essential, along with representing Carrington's professionally on client sites.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven expertise in Traffic Control and Road Traffic management for safe site navigation of vehicles and pedestrians.
- Experience interpreting and implementing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs).
- Strong communication skills for coordination with site teams, contractors, and the public.
- Basic operations management skills to organize equipment, maintain site setups, and support project workflows.
- Valid traffic management certification, such as WA traffic control tickets, with a solid understanding of local road safety regulations.
- Ability to work safely outdoors, including standing for long periods and managing traffic control equipment.
- Dedication to safety, reliability, and responsive service, adhering strictly to procedures and hazard reporting.
- Current driver’s license and dependable transport; prior experience in civil construction, roadworks, or utilities sectors is advantageous.
