With over 550 employees distributed among global offices in London, New York, Singapore, Sydney, and Lisbon, the company has successfully raised over £500 million in funding from notable investors including Molten Ventures, Eurazeo, Temasek, JPMorgan Chase Strategic Investments, and Standard Chartered Ventures. The firm boasts a vibrant, innovative culture, recognized as one of the UK's best fintech workplaces and one of the fastest-growing companies in Europe.

Role Overview

As a Solutions Architect within Thought Machine's Expert Services, you will deliver critical leadership in assisting banking clients to overhaul their core and payments systems using the Vault platform. This role encompasses collaborating in both pre-sales and implementation phases to advise on deployment strategies, configurations, system integrations, and data migration. Architects are expected to possess an in-depth understanding of the Vault suite’s current capabilities, non-functional requirements, architectural constraints, and future roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present the Vault platform architecture and recommended best practices to senior client stakeholders during pre-sales and delivery phases.
  • Engage with senior figures across client organizations employing broad consulting competencies.
  • Guide banks in developing target architectures and phased transition plans tailored for Vault implementations and migrations while enforcing industry best practices.
  • Architect comprehensive core banking replacement solutions centered around the Vault product suite.
  • Develop and leverage AI agents to expedite the creation of architectural deliverables and empower clients to utilize these tools.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of the Vault platform and communicate its capabilities and trajectory effectively to clients.
  • Operate autonomously, typically engaging clients independently without sustained team assistance.
  • Provide comprehensive training on Vault functionality and architecture to client teams.
  • Create and update client-facing materials related to architectural topics.
  • Collaborate closely with the Thought Machine product team to recommend features that enhance client value and influence the product roadmap.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Proven experience designing enterprise architectures for large financial services entities.
  • Strong banking domain expertise, particularly in core banking or payments, coupled with a solid grasp of business motivations and regulatory factors shaping large transformation initiatives.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Robust technical foundation with thorough knowledge of modern architectural patterns such as event-driven architecture, CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation), and process orchestration.
  • Advanced familiarity with cloud platforms and architectures, including methods to achieve high availability and disaster recovery across multiple zones and regions.
  • Proven competence in client-facing environments, capable of articulating and defending technical approaches to diverse audiences comprising enterprise architects, engineers, and business representatives.
  • Understanding of business context, regulatory frameworks, and banking transformation drivers to provide informed consultative guidance.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing AI agents that improve delivery efficiency.
  • Background in managing large-scale migrations, especially core banking transitions.

Benefits and Culture

  • Competitive salary package with bonus incentives.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage.
  • Generous leave including 25 days holiday plus public holidays.
  • Supportive maternity and paternity leave policies.
  • An annual $1,500 SGD flexible spending allowance.
  • Access to the latest technology and tools.
  • Opportunity to work with a talented and experienced team.
  • A culture fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
