Senior Software Engineer - Java, AWS, Python, Microservices

Role Overview

This position requires deep proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python programming and the capability to architect, develop, and sustain complex software services. The engineer will lead feature development and platform improvements with complete ownership from conception to deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality services on AWS infrastructure.
• Create and communicate technical designs using documents such as proposals, specifications, and architecture diagrams.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders, including architects, product managers, and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration of engineering efforts.
• Advocate for engineering best practices emphasizing simplicity and measurable quality outcomes.
• Make informed technical decisions balancing development speed, product quality, and long-term system maintainability.
• Provide architectural or product change recommendations grounded in data analysis and technical expertise.
• Mentor colleagues to foster enhanced engineering culture, process improvements, and adherence to standards.

• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end feature development and ownership.
• Expertise in designing, developing, and operating scalable services using AWS technologies.
• Strong skills in articulating technical concepts through well-crafted documentation.
• Competence in making strategic trade-offs in technical decisions, balancing various project demands.
• Experience mentoring peers and promoting best engineering practices within teams.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as code completion and debugging assistants.
• Analytical aptitude for solving complex service failures and operational challenges.

Preferred Skills in AI

• Experience leveraging AI coding assistants like Copilot to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation processes.
• Ability to formulate effective prompts to guide AI tools in software development tasks.
