About the Role
Join IDEXX’s global software centre of excellence based in Auckland as a Senior iOS Developer, contributing to a talented team focused on the SmartFlow product. This cloud-based veterinary application enhances hospital workflows, modernizing traditional pen-and-paper processes primarily for enterprise customers in the USA.
The role involves advancing a recently upgraded backend and improved iOS app by delivering new features and innovation. As a senior engineer, you’ll have a pivotal influence in evolving this iPad-focused application.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain sophisticated iOS applications for iPad using Swift and Objective-C.
- Lead entire development cycles from ideation to deployment, ensuring smooth, performant user experiences on iPad devices.
- Maintain high standards for app quality, responsiveness, and performance.
- Integrate applications with backend APIs and cloud platforms.
- Rapidly diagnose and fix performance bottlenecks, bugs, and crashes.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers with thorough code reviews and leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Substantial background as a senior iOS developer with demonstrated leadership in influencing technical decisions.
- Proficiency in both Objective-C and Swift, including transitioning codebases from Objective-C to Swift.
- Understanding of cloud technology principles and practices.
- Knowledge of systems and software design methodologies.
- Experience working with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Exposure to large-scale SaaS systems is highly advantageous.
