Senior AI Software Engineer - Sensors Software

Role Summary

This role focuses on applying and integrating artificial intelligence models, such as large language models (LLMs), into operational software platforms. Rather than creating AI models from scratch, this position is centered on embedding AI capabilities into practical, optimized software solutions. Expertise is required in C, Python, API integrations, and system optimization to enable AI-enhanced embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop algorithms related to AI, sensor signal processing, and machine learning across embedded system-on-chips (SOCs).
• Debug, optimize, and fine-tune C-based implementations of signal processing and machine learning techniques originally developed in MATLAB and Python.
• Translate MATLAB code to efficient C implementations.
• Work in real-time operating systems (RTOS) with multi-threaded environments balancing factors like performance, power consumption, memory, and system complexity.
• Collaborate with development and testing teams on algorithm deployment.
• Create prototypes using reference hardware platforms.
• Produce documentation covering implementation workflows and software architecture designs.

Preferred Expertise

• Embedded software development experience, particularly implementing digital signal processing and machine learning algorithms in C or C++.
• Working knowledge of machine learning frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience applying fixed-point arithmetic and quantization techniques to machine learning models.
• Understanding sensor hardware such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers.
• Detail-oriented approach with comprehensive documentation abilities.
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation proficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2 or more years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or equivalent experience.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree plus at least 1 year of related experience.
• Or a PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
