Research Expert – Computer Vision & Image Processing

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Possess a Doctorate (PhD) or an equivalent advanced degree related to the field.
• Have published a minimum of five articles in SCI or SSCI indexed journals within the last three years.
• Demonstrate a strong grasp of research methods and adhere to ethical standards within the discipline.
• Exhibit excellent skills in analytical reasoning and critical assessment.
• Possess strong skills in written communication with the capability to offer clear, concise, and constructive critiques.
• Show proficiency in meeting deadlines and effective time management.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and objectivity in research evaluation.
• Preferable: Previous experience performing peer reviews for academic journals.
• Familiarity with online platforms used for manuscript submission and peer review is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess originality by determining if the manuscript contributes novel knowledge or insights in the field.
• Evaluate the appropriateness and clarity of the study design and methodology, ensuring reproducibility.
• Review whether the manuscript includes thorough and current literature citations relevant to the topic.
• Analyze the presentation of results and the validity of conclusions in context to their significance in the discipline.
• Offer constructive feedback highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and any ethical issues or gaps.
• Support journal editors by making recommendations on manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection based on evaluations.
