Facade Engineer

Job Overview

This position entails comprehensive responsibilities in facade engineering, focusing on the design, quality control, site execution, and coordination of curtain wall and cladding systems. It requires thorough review and validation of shop drawings, fabrication details, and structural calculations to ensure safety and compliance with international standards.

Primary Duties

• Conduct detailed evaluation of shop drawings, fabrication specifics, profile extrusions, and structural load computations including wind, dead load, and seismic considerations for curtain walls, skylights, and ACP cladding systems.
• Lead quality assurance and control activities overseeing factory cutting and assembly tolerances, finishing processes such as anodizing and powder coating, and performance testing of mock-ups including water, air, and structural tests.
• Supervise onsite installation teams by addressing interface and waterproofing challenges, ensuring adherence to approved designs and international codes such as ASTM, BS, and EN.
• Coordinate material quantity estimation, manage project timelines, and obtain necessary technical approvals from main contractors, consultants, and clients.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
• Bring a minimum of seven years of practical experience specifically in structural glazing, stick or unitized curtain wall systems, and aluminum fabrication.
• Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD as mandatory, with additional skills in Revit (BIM), STAAD.Pro, and Orgadata (LogiKal) software tools advantageous.
• Have previous work experience in GCC countries is preferred, along with professional registration such as UPDA/MMUP and holding a valid Qatar Driving License.
