Job description
Role Overview
We seek an experienced and team-oriented DevOps Engineer responsible for aiding in the design, deployment, and management of dependable and scalable software systems. This position aims to enhance engineering productivity, automate workflows, ensure system stability, and foster collaboration between development and operations squads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Automate processes involving software building, testing, deployment, and infrastructure management.
- Facilitate smooth software delivery throughout various development stages.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to define operational needs and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Manage and monitor infrastructure whether cloud-based or on-premises.
- Apply infrastructure as code strategies using relevant tools.
- Maintain standards for deployment and configuration whilst supporting application availability and scalability.
- Promote automation initiatives, enhance system monitoring and security, and continuously refine development and operational procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of DevOps philosophies, practices, and software development lifecycle frameworks.
- Expertise in CI/CD concepts and related automation tooling.
- Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of container technologies and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience or familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools—for example, Terraform or Ansible.
- Competence in Linux/Unix operating systems, networks, system administration, and diagnostics.
- Scripting or programming skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting mechanisms, and system observability best practices.
- Experience using version control systems, especially Git and branching workflows.
- Awareness of security standards, access management, and DevSecOps principles.
- Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on detail-oriented problem solving.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- A proactive, automation-focused mindset driven by reliability, continuous enhancement, and operational excellence.
