Job description
Position Overview
The role involves preparing specialized dishes or suitable substitutes, managing oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures, and handling the thawing process of frozen items in refrigeration. Ensuring correct portioning, plating, and garnishing of dishes is essential along with maintaining detailed food logs. The candidate will oversee the quality and quantity of food prepared, coordinate with the chef and service staff on specials and inventory, and prepare foods per recipe and quality standards, including cold foods.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching kitchen team members.
- Act as a role model for quality and professional standards within the kitchen environment.
- Adhere to company safety and security policies, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and protect company property and proprietary information.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest service needs, using clear and professional communication.
- Foster positive relationships with coworkers, promote teamwork, and respond appropriately to concerns.
- Meet quality expectations and standards consistently.
- Perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and moving objects up to 25 pounds.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Technical, vocational, or trade school degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ related culinary experience required.
- No supervisory experience required.
