Overview

Join the PlaceMakers Evans Bay team in Wellington as a Yard & Drive Thru Team Member, where you will be the trusted specialist supporting our building trade customers. Your role involves hands-on assistance across yard and drive-thru areas, offering customized product guidance, loading vehicles, and creating a welcoming customer journey that encourages repeat visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide product recommendations tailored to customers' needs and preferences.
• Pick, assemble, and process orders and transaction details accurately.
• Load and unload vehicles including customer trucks, delivery vans, and supplier shipments.
• Coordinate dispatch activities and support daily delivery operations.
• Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and replenishing where necessary.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized yard through routine housekeeping tasks.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently within a busy yard setting.

About You

• Experience in warehousing, timber yards, or a similar trade-related environment is required.
• A strong work ethic combined with an approachable and practical attitude.
• Physically fit to perform heavy lifting and handle manual tasks effectively.
• Possession of a valid New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence is essential.
• Forklift experience with an F endorsement is preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials or construction industry is an asset.

Work Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time employment opportunity based at PlaceMakers Evans Bay Wellington branch, offering 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
