Job description
Job Purpose
The appointed candidate will oversee and coordinate maintenance activities pertaining to components and other workshop entities. Responsibilities include devising comprehensive schedules, setting daily work objectives, monitoring progress, and compiling performance reports. The role focuses on maximizing manpower and resource efficiency within the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept work scopes and shop visit requests from CAMO or Component Planning teams.
- Develop detailed schedules for shop visits and related maintenance tasks.
- Organize, assign, and communicate daily work objectives to workshop technicians.
- Track progress relative to plans and revise schedules as needed to fulfill turnaround time commitments.
- Liaise with Quality, Logistics, Tooling, and Stores departments to secure timely supply of parts, tools, and documentation.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and update status in AMOS in real-time.
- Report and escalate any issues that could cause delays, such as material shortages, findings, or manpower limitations.
- Generate post-visit reports analyzing turnaround time, labor hours, delays, non-routine tasks, and findings.
- Support continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing workshop efficiency, scheduling, and resource management.
- Engage in daily planning meetings and facilitate coordination among various stakeholders.
- Plan procurement of materials, consumables, and tools necessary for workshop operations.
- Manage AMOS-CROM & CMP projects effectively.
People Management
- Provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth.
- Create a productive and positive work environment to sustain a performance-oriented, motivated, and committed team.
- Ensure adherence to company policies regarding people management responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Competent in creating and managing Gantt charts and detailed project schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills capable of engaging diverse departments and hierarchical levels.
- Knowledgeable about airline or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations, maintenance procedures, and technical manuals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for reporting purposes.
- Working understanding of workshop operations and turnaround planning.
- Awareness of human factors influencing aircraft maintenance processes.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in workshop maintenance planning.
- Experienced with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera and maintenance software like AMOS or TRAX (AMOS is preferred).
