Job Summary

This role acts as a crucial link between engineering teams and field operations, providing guidance on constructability and overseeing execution of constructability plans. You will lead decisions related to construction design, facilitate interdisciplinary reviews, manage project staffing, monitor construction performance, and review project deliverables to enhance Bechtel’s construction methodologies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and manage a detailed 90-day IWP release schedule in collaboration with superintendents and field engineers.
• Ensure installation priorities align with project requirements, overseeing sequences, access, resources, equipment, materials, and support services.
• Coordinate with lead planners and field engineers to finalize IWP scopes and obtain necessary approvals.
• Conduct random audits of IWPs prepared by other planners to maintain quality standards.
• Apply a deep understanding of work packaging philosophies and the Work Breakdown Structure to scope installation packages effectively.
• Track project schedules, ensure timely delivery of civil-structural IWPs, and collaborate with project controls and relevant stakeholders.
• Attend progress meetings and maintain effective communication with site management, client organizations, and team members to facilitate smooth work packaging initiatives.
• Prepare detailed civil-structural IWPs including installation drawings, vendor documentation, inspection records, and engineering deliverables.
• Support development of construction engineering outputs such as material take-offs for concrete, rebar, embedments, and formwork, and input this data into project databases.
• Identify and assist in resolving constraints impacting IWPs, preparing constraint lists and facilitating issue resolutions.

Required Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree or international equivalent is required along with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or alternatively 9-12 years of related work experience.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Hands-on experience as a Field Engineer or Construction Engineer on large-scale industrial projects.
• Expertise in preparing Installation Work Packages specifically for concrete and steel structures.
• Strong capability in reading and interpreting construction drawings, design documents, technical specifications, and industry standards.
• Exceptional communication skills for effective coordination across teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Preferably, experience with international field assignments and projects in LNG or petrochemical sectors.
