Role Overview
This position is offered on a 12-month renewable contract basis, outsourced via a manpower solutions provider. The Warehouse Helper will play a key role in facilitating the efficient flow of materials in a warehouse setting, particularly handling inbound and outbound goods, inventory maintenance, and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with unloading incoming shipments and ensure delivery contents are accurate.
- Prepare and package shipments for dispatch, verifying labels and details carefully.
- Communicate with drivers and logistics teams to achieve timely shipments.
- Conduct regular stock tallies to keep inventory data up to date.
- Store goods systematically in designated areas for organized access.
- Identify and report stock inconsistencies or shortages promptly to management.
- Ensure safety and security of stored items to minimize damage or loss.
- Maintain an organized warehouse layout for operational efficiency.
- Label inventory properly for straightforward retrieval and categorization.
- Keep the warehouse environment clean and orderly, managing waste properly.
- Perform maintenance checks on warehouse equipment, reporting issues as needed.
- Support inventory audits and cycle counts periodically.
- Assist other departments with material handling requirements as assigned.
- Carry out any additional duties directed by supervisors or the warehouse manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school certificate or equivalent educational background.
- Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not required.
- Capable of lifting weights up to 50 pounds and standing for long durations.
- Basic proficiency with computers for inventory tracking and records.
- Organized, strong time management skills, detail-focused, and accurate in task execution.
- Capable of both independent work and collaboration within teams.
- Possession of a valid driver's license may be necessary.
- Forklift operation certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
