About the Role
We are seeking a UX Researcher to generate meaningful insights into customer needs, behaviors, and preferences. This position emphasizes qualitative research through the design and execution of user studies, direct engagement with customers, and the integration of comprehensive qualitative insights across teams. You will help shape research strategy while collaborating closely with senior leaders and the broader UX research team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a wide range of qualitative research methods, including in-depth interviews, contextual inquiries, ethnographic field observations, and usability testing on web and mobile platforms.
- Interpret and synthesize complex qualitative data such as interview transcripts and observational notes to detect themes and actionable findings, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Transform detailed qualitative insights into clear, engaging narratives that effectively communicate user motivations, challenges, and needs to stakeholders.
- Serve as a research consultant across multiple products by identifying overarching patterns affecting the organization and tailoring insights for specific teams.
- Develop concise research reports and presentations for senior leadership, translating discoveries into practical strategies for product, design, and business development.
- Collaborate actively with designers, product managers, engineers, and business units; contribute to design workshops and brainstorming sessions to influence timely product decisions.
- Lead ResearchOps responsibilities, managing participant recruitment, maintaining research repositories, and standardizing templates to enhance research quality and accessibility.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Between 3 to 6 years of professional experience in UX research.
- Strong command of qualitative research methodologies, including both established and innovative recruitment and reporting techniques.
- Proficient in qualitative analysis methods like thematic analysis and affinity mapping, and skilled in creating deliverables such as service design blueprints, journey maps, and process flows.
- Ability to select appropriate qualitative methods and compile insights into coherent, actionable outputs for design, product, business, and technical stakeholders.
- Experienced in defining research aims collaboratively with product, design, brand, and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of product design workflows and the latest technology trends.
- Adept at working with cross-functional partners including Product, Tech, Data, and Business teams to deliver superior user experiences and services.
- Mandarin language proficiency is mandatory.
- Applicants must be locally based in Singapore and capable of attending in-person interviews.
Portfolio & Case Study Expectations
- Applicants should submit a portfolio link alongside their CV; portfolios are integral to the screening process.
- Be ready to present and discuss one or two portfolio pieces in detail during interviews.
- Include case studies relevant to the position for review during candidate assessment.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Experience using AI-enhanced research techniques and tools.
- Knowledge of quantitative research methods like surveys, A/B testing, product analytics, and CSAT metrics to support and validate qualitative findings.
