Role Overview
The Utility Locate Technician is a key role in the Apple Valley, Minnesota area, responsible for performing precise utility mapping and marking to prevent damage during excavation work. Technicians utilize LaunchPoint software technology to enhance efficiency while operating independently outdoors using a company vehicle as their mobile office.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily route completion of locate requests independently utilizing provided company vehicle.
- Identify and mark underground utilities safely and accurately using paint, flags, and whiskers.
- Operate a mobile digital system to receive and manage daily tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotations and overtime, including night and weekend shifts when required.
Required Qualifications
- Must clear pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Record review, and background check; adherence to Department of Transportation safety regulations is mandatory.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Medical or recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to federal safety regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranges from $25.00 to $31.00, depending on experience.
- Provision of company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone for daily use—facilitating direct travel to job sites from home.
