Job description
Position Overview
SSP Group plc invites you to join as a Utility / Dishwasher based in Richmond, British Columbia, working onsite within the Vancouver International Airport's secure environment. This role contributes to exceptional guest experiences by maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas in our diverse range of airport restaurants including Whistler Taphouse & Grill, Lift Bar and Grill, and Urban Crave.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain hygienic conditions by cleaning all work areas thoroughly, including floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and kitchen equipment.
- Dispose of garbage properly and clear tables between guest seatings, transporting service-ware to kitchens for cleaning.
- Scrape, wash by hand, or use dishwashers on dirty cookware and utensils, returning them to designated storage.
- Use appropriate cleaning chemicals on equipment to uphold sanitation standards; operation of heavy cleaning equipment may be required.
- Assist guests with special requests and communicate these to servers or supervisors effectively.
- Manage loading and unloading of supply trucks and move stock between storage and work areas.
- Keep food items stocked, check temperatures, rotate stock, and record dates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least six months experience in retail or food service environment preferred.
- High school diploma is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills mandatory.
- Experience handling guest service issues effectively.
- Possession of a valid food handler’s permit where legally required.
- Brand certification will be required if applicable.
- Ability to stand and operate in confined spaces for extended durations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to pass government airport security clearance, including holding a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wages: $21.25 per hour for external employees and $25.00 per hour for internal employees.

Additional Information
This position requires compliance with Transport Canada regulations for airport security clearance; onboarding will include review of necessary government-issued identification.
